    We installed in November.  How to tackle the tax rebate? Do we need a CPA?

    Federal solar tax credit is on IRS form 5695.

    You should not need a CPA. Check out the form and just fill it in.  You don't need to submit any backup documentation with it.   Here's the link:

    Tax rebate. Anita, I assume you mean the Fed Tax credit (actually not a rebate). You may also have a rebate in your state or with the utility provider, but I think you're asking about the Fed?

    All you need is IRS form 5695. Your solar contract should have the total amount you paid, to include finance charge. I DO suggest you work with your accountant if he or she does your taxes.

    But the process is very straightforward and doesn't require any hurdles.
