CSP is good where you have a very large percentage of "clear sky" sunny days. Direct sunlight is the only radiation that can be concentrated. If you are in a "climate" where reflective based solar cookers work all the time well, year round, CSP would most likely be an option for you. But make no mistake, any type of tracking system comes with an element of, "A labor of love", unless you can throw a bazillion bucks at it from the beginning.
Usually the cost per captured kilo-watt hour is much higher except for very large systems, so it is usually just easier and less costly to use static arrays, especially for PV, given the necessary area available.. As for CSP solar thermal, it would depend on the highest output temp required for the application.
