  • 1.  Slow Start for Solar Farming

    Posted 03-03-2021 04:15 PM

With agricultural systems putting an unprecedented amount of stress on the environment and the expected increase global population of two billion in 30 or so years, it is time to reevaluate the world's primary form of land use. There is a common misconception that farmers are unable to utilize many forms of sustainable development due to the nature of their work, when in reality, this could not be further from the truth. Along with exhibiting sustainable farming practices, agriculture workers around the country have begun integrating solar panels into their farms, and many are experiencing noticeable success. How do we go about disproving this myth and promoting sustainable development in the agriculture sector when there seems to be little interest?

Hi Gabe, I guess just one farm at a time?  I completed a pretty large solar installation at a free-range turkey farm a couple months ago. It was their third system, with the array installed on their newest barn roof.
