Departing briefly from Tim's lofty singing group, here down on Earth in central PA, we are dealing with an onslaught of AI data center land acquisitions. PA is one of those states where townships can not outright ban data centers. Jump through hoops, stall, delay, etc.. but can not ban like NJ and some other states can. The allure of cheap land and residents who don't represent a wealth concentration (Leverage and push back) becomes an easy target for the mega rich corporations and their staff of lawyers. The local townships and their supervisor boards offer up the bait and switch scenario that, "If we don't put these ordinances in, they can come in and build anywhere they want (Which they do anyway). Our specific planning commission and board of supervisors, North Centre Twp, decided to protect our interests by offering up the rezoning overlay map for 355 acres of agriculturally zoned land, rezoning to AI and data center specific development. Not general commercial interests like a solar field, AI specific. I wonder how that happened? How could they be so stingy?/s Our township supervisor board and its planning board which share some common members (Really?) worked for 18 months on their proposal, mostly in the dark with some light being shed by the representatives for the AI and data center interests. No one wants these data centers except for the few people who have there fingers in the cookie jar. Its like the Fracking craze all over again, regarding the local aquifers and the unfortunate people in the zone with their local wells, and clean water farming needs.

Down next to the Salem Twp Susquehanna Nuke, Talen Energy is building a data center complex for AI and Crypto mining, right next to the nuke. The NRC apparently relaxed their safety standards allowing for a max 30 million gallon diesel fuel storage tank and multiple methane lines for more energy and power needed for this in progress data campus. Murphy is absolutely salivating over this disastrous cocktail. I know, lets have a 10,000+ gallon diesel fuel fire next to our nuke, to REAL WORLD test our nuke safety standards! These entities are coming into these townships at blitzkrieg speed trying to get them done before anyone can stop them. The local rags are picking up more and more on these stories, but it is too little to late. Below is Talen's first plant offering next to the nuke.

Is anyone out there having these issues on their door step?
