What happens when you create a space where women can learn solar in a supportive, hands-on environment? ☀️
This June, the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) hosted our Women's Photovoltaic (PV) Workshop, bringing together women from a wide range of backgrounds to learn the fundamentals of solar energy through hands-on experience.
Over four days, participants learned how to:
🔆 Size and design PV systems
🔆 Improve energy efficiency
🔆 Install both off-grid and grid-tied solar systems
🔆 Safely use power tools and installation equipment
🔆 Build confidence through collaborative, hands-on learning
No prior experience was required, just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
We intentionally designed this as a women-only workshop to foster an encouraging, collaborative environment where participants could ask questions, develop practical skills, and gain confidence without the pressures that can sometimes exist in traditional technical training settings.
The result was an inspiring week of learning, teamwork, and empowerment.
