You are invited to attend a fundraiser party at one of our National Solar Tour hosts house, John Avenson!
The fundraiser is for the PBS TV Series: Heart of a Building featuring John Avenson's award-winning SERI (NREL) designed Passive heated Home, held at John Avenson's home (an educational center). This PBS episode will focus on the History of Jimmy Carter creating SERI, Solar Energy Research Institute (now NREL), to De-fossilize America's housing. John has used PHIUS and PHI education to keep his 1981 home up to the latest PH Building Codes with features that inspire ideas anyone can do to improve the energy efficiency of their own home. Your Pledges will be recorded during the party and invoices will be sent out later. Food and beverages are served. Our Goal is $25,000 for TV production costs. This will be an exciting event! Tours of the house will take place before and after the Key speakers scheduled at 6pm (Mike Nelson of TV Channel 7 weather is concerned about Climate Reaction). John's house is Historical because it was part of the 1981 SERI Home-builder-education program teaching builders proper construction design, orientation, and the sales potential of low energy homes. * This program was inspired by President Jimmy Carter but was quickly cancelled by Ronald Reagan.
