Below is the link to the website repository for the collective contribution to the Cityscapes 2026 Summit.  This resource is a reference point for how, together, we effectively positioned the opportunity to overlay our energy convening onto the Cityscapes Summit, thereby socializing and disseminating our research among wider and more diverse audiences, contributing to key bodies of inclusive energy research past, present, and future, and hopefully informing place-based policies and outcomes.
Workshop | Exploring Energy Research and Its Impact on Policies and Infrastructure in Small- and Medium-Sized Cities - This interactive 90-minute workshop not only presented key findings from research exploring barriers facing Black and minority advanced-energy researchers at HBCUs and other higher education institutions, but it also explored practical pathways to translate research into place-based solutions for small and medium-sized cities. Through brief presentations and facilitated roundtable discussions, attendees examined long-term pipeline development, mentoring/network models, and strategies for researcher–community partnership and institutional buy-in. The session concluded with actionable recommendations and opportunities for continuing collaboration and funding pathways.
Speakers: Henry Golatt, Karen Soares, Bryan Patterson, Yas Motoyama, J. Chris Ford, Mel Delpech
