Shine Brighter Together: Solar Eclipse Donation Match Up to $25,000!

In celebration of the power of the sun,  will be matched up to $25,000 by a generous anonymous donor!

    Dear Solar Citizens,

Today, April 8, the total solar eclipse will traverse North America, spanning across Mexico, the United States, and Canada. During a total solar eclipse, the moon aligns between the sun and earth, resulting in the complete obstruction of the sun's face. This celestial event will immerse the sky in darkness, reminiscent of the transition between dawn and dusk.

As a valued member of our community, we're reaching out to invite you to join us in supporting a cause that's near and dear to our hearts: solar energy advocacy and awareness. With today's total solar eclipse, we have a unique opportunity to come together to celebrate the power of the sun and make a meaningful impact on the future of solar energy.

While sunlight is free, educating about its benefits to accelerate its adoption is not. ASES needs your help to continue sharing information, events, and resources that cultivate community and power progress to get to a 100% renewable energy future.

How to Prepare for the Total Solar Eclipse:

    • Check out  to see if you are on the solar eclipse path! Send us your photos of you watching the eclipse to  and we'll share it on our social media channels!
    • Keep your eyes safe, and don't look at the sun directly! Learn how to create a  to view the eclipse!
    • In the last , we asked: Will the solar eclipse affect solar energy? Send us a photo of the graph of your solar production during the eclipse!

Today's eclipse is special because this year the sun is entering one of its most active periods, known as a solar maximum, which will provide a much greater show of activity from the corona versus in 2017 when we were near a solar minimum.

Thank you for your commitment to advancing solar energy technologies, research, policy, and education.

    Sunny Regards,

    The ASES team
