The ASES Team is at the CityScapes Summit 2026 hosted by New Growth Innovation Network!

During Day 1 of the conference, ASES Board Chair Karen B. Soares helped facilitate a workshop exploring energy research and its influence on policy development and infrastructure planning in small- to medium-sized cities.

This workshop presented key findings from research exploring barriers facing Black and minority advanced-energy researchers at HBCUs and other higher education institutions. It also explored practical pathways to translate research into place-based solutions for small and medium-sized cities and provided actionable recommendations and opportunities for continued collaboration and funding.

We also concluded that small and mid-sized cities are ready for SOLAR! ☀️

I think you will find that the major hurdles to RE is sitting in the WH. This impact is grossly underestimated and will not only effect RE's progress forward, but potentially change life as we know it in the USA. The result of the coming November elections will tell the tail. Do we continue until we hit a Fascistic bottom, or begin to curb the tide.... I am not optimistic...

Generally speaking, when one fiddles while Rome is burning, they call them crazy...

Sir  William Fitch,  Yes "  Rome is Burning" more a madness than crazy.   Humans been burning their cities since time began. We say,  " When in Rome do not do what the Romans are doing as all roads do not lead to Rome. "  Yes "Babylon has fallen"  as cities fall under the weight of their own demise. Are we to be concerned?  Yes!  But us Time Lords dont have, time to Dilly Dally around  for  "Time " is of the essence. When we switch to Solar Time all else ceases to exist except our focus on that future.  How else will this thing manifest?  Kings and Presidents come and go but the Sun shines forever.

    This?

     Or This?

    WIlliam,
I too think Trump policies are blocking the pace of RE advancement in our country but the renewable energy evolution is still moving forward!
It is truly amazing to see the large number of rooftop PV being installed in my region....for good reason, it works!
Trump's Iran war is showing the world how fragile the fossil fuel network really is.
The use of electric vehicles..... autos, scooters & semis are being increased substantially..... especially in other countries.
Maybe we American RE advocates are just destined to buy our RE equipment from foreign countries where they are willing to invest tax dollars in support of the RE industry.....O'  we are already doing that!
I have some great Chinese equipment working nicely everyday in my home...... so it is.
Is the transition moving fast enough...... absolutely NOT  but I am going to enjoy the ride while I can!

    Good Day,
    Steve

I am not to worried about RE progressing over the long haul. I am more concerned over our current political system. Nixon looks like a patron saint compared to the current conditions. The level of corruption and criminality is unprecedented in this country, from the top down. Without a full purge of the DOJ and Supreme Court, I do not see anything changing for the better. RE is great, but living in a to come HELL, dominates the source of energy you use while there.

This is truly a time where "The Emperor Has No clothes"...

    Look at the gray sky
