Please see the message below from Margaret Larson, Stakeholder Engagement Lead - Long-Duration Energy Storage & Distributed Energy Systems at the U.S. Department of Energy:
"My name is Margaret Larson, and I am the Stakeholder Engagement Specialist for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) Distributed Energy Systems Program.
Yesterday, as part of President Biden's Investing in America agenda, DOE announced up to $50 million in funding for three community-driven projects that will allow the US to develop more reliable, resilient, and cost-effective distribution grids and systems. The projects announced today span across three states (Massachusetts, Colorado, and Virginia) and will support diverse, replicable clean energy projects needed to build safer, climate resilient communities--which is key to ensuring that the benefits of clean energy improvements reach every corner of the country. Learn more about the five projects selected for award negotiation here.
As part of the Department's commitment to transparency, OCED will hold a National Briefing to provide information on the selected projects, OCED's approach to clean energy demonstrations, and opportunities for community engagement. Learn about DES engagement opportunities here and register for the National Briefing on Monday, October 28, at 1:00 PM ET.
For more information regarding the DES program visit the OCED DES webpage. You can also reach OCED's DES team at Engage_DES@hq.goe.gov with general questions or comments. "
