The New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the environment by furthering the use of clean, renewable energy and electric transportation. NMSEA is in fact the oldest existing solar energy association in the United States, and has played a major role in the development of solar energy in the
United States over its long and storied history. The organization is a state chapter of the American Solar Energy Association (ASES), and was historically the first state chapter of ASES. The ASES Solar 2022 Conference is also the first annual ASES Conference in New Mexico since NMSEA hosted the 1998 ASES Conference. The return of ASES to New Mexico is a major event for NMSEA, and coincides fortuitously with NMSEA's 50th Anniversary.
