    Through its Energy access programme, the Federal Government of Nigeria is boosting its efforts to offer affordable energy to underserved rural communities.

    The project's goals are as follows:

    I. Provide energy access to 25 million people (5 million new connections) by installing Solar Home Systems (SHS) or connecting to a mini grid;

    II. Increasing local content in the off-grid solar value chain and facilitating local manufacturing industry growth.

    III. Encourage the creation of 250,000 new energy-related jobs.

    Hi,

    This energy access program is a big opportunity for the private sector as it aims to achieve 100% electrification by 2030!

    There is a really nice tool "Integrated Energy Planning" in the link below that allows users to filter communities based on electrification needs, solar project estimated financial performance, Solar PV location, number of households, energy demand, and so on.

    For now, only two countries are supported! Hope more will join soon. I wonder if such a tool exists for other regions worldwide. It can help to speed up investment in renewable energy systems, especially in community solar PV and energy storage for both rural and urban communities.
