"Opportunities for Clean Energy in Texas: Idealism vs. Reality"

    Becoming Effective Renewable Energy Advocates

Presented by: Tracy Wallace, Chair of the North Texas Renewable Energy Group

While we support all sources of renewable energy, few citizens have an understanding of how solar energy fits into the electricity grid that supplies our power. Or is some cases, how it does not fit into the grid.
For Texas citizens to be effective advocates for renewable energy, we need a deep understanding of how the grid works. In our discussion with Tracy at this event, we'll learn more about:
    • How the Texas grid works, actually
    • Interconnection options-community solar, virtual power plants, "off-grid"
    • Challenges to connection-culture of pre-emption at the Texas state legislature, realities of the power distribution network
Tracy has an extensive background in renewable energy as it relates to the grid, and is currently the chair of the North Texas Renewable Energy Group, an affiliate of the Texas Solar Energy Society.
Thanks to Kathryn Guerra, TCEQ Watchdog for Public Citizen, for last months presentation:
