    FOREVER ON THE FRONT LINES

The clean energy transition is no longer coming. It is here. And the question that keeps me up at night is not whether it will happen, it's whether the communities I grew up in will be part of it. As a lifetime member of ASES and a Community Engagement Consultant with Accord Power, I am on the front lines of that question every single day. This is what I am seeing.

ROOFTOPS, RESIDENTS, AND REDEMPTION: HOW ACCORD POWER IS REWRITING THE RULES OF SOLAR IN NEW YORK.

When most people think about solar energy, they picture suburban rooftops, single-family homes, and homeowners with enough disposable income to invest in clean energy and wait for the savings to come. That picture is not wrong. It is just incomplete.                                                                         Read the entire article here.

GRASSROOTS PARTNERSHIP BRINGS AFFORDABLE SOLAR TO LOW- AND MODERATE-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS, ADVANCING NEW YORK'S CLIMATE ACT EQUITY MANDATE

New York, NY - (April 30th, 2026) - As New York City families struggle under rapidly rising utility cost, Fifty Avenue Committee (FAC), Solar One, and Neighbors Helping Neighbors have expanded their Barrio Solar program, providing financial counseling and subsidies supporting 230 families working to install home solar projects.                                                                              Read the entire article here.

FROM SUPERSTORM SANDY TO ENERGY RESILIENCE: BUILDING A BLUEPRINT FOR COMMUNITY BACKUP POWER

In the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, New York City faced an important question: How can communities remain connected when the power goes out?

One solution emerged through the development of resilient solar-plus-storage-systems designed to provide backup power for critical community facilities. Through grant-funded initiatives, Accord helped develop and install battery-backed solar energy systems at four public libraries across New York City.         Read the entire article here.

YOUR AC CAN NOW PAY YOU BACK: HOW ACCORD POWER IS BRINGING THE VIRTUAL POWER PLANT TO YOUR LIVING ROOM

Question. When was the last time your air conditioner made you money?

If you live in New York City, you already know the drill. Summer arrives, temperatures spike, and suddenly your electric bill looks like a car payment. Meanwhile, the grid is groaning under the weight of millions of window units all running at the same time, and Con Edison is firing up old fossil-fuel Peaker plants just to keep the lights on - plants that pollute the neighborhoods they serve and pass the cost right back to the residents who can least afford it.                                                         Read the entire article here.

FROM THE PIT TO THE STAGE: THE STORY OF THE SOLAR GUY

There is a place in Brooklyn that most New Yorkers drive past without a second thought. Tucked between the Gowanus Canal and the quiet streets of Boerum Hill sit a cluster of housing developments, Wyckoff Gardens, Gowanus Houses, and the place we simply called Turnkey. To the outside world, they are statistics. To me, they are home.                                                                                   Read the entire article here.
