Social and behavioral scientists are pushing for development in use of automation on smart appliances that can result in large reductions in energy consumption to limit emissions and climate change impact. There have been various successful behavioral change interventions using smart technologies such as smart thermostats to achieve substantial reductions in both energy use and consumer energy cost. It is unclear if existing energy solutions have fully addressed the use of smart technologies to support individual and corporate behavior towards controlling their consumption. This can support conservation of resource, energy management and cost reduction in energy expenses due to relatively high upfront installation cost (capital expenditure) of clean energy technologies like solar photovoltaic from residential and commercial users, which will be integral to meeting the UAE consensus to triple up on renewable energy by the year 2030.
We are therefore conducting research to investigate energy consumption management from solar PV This survey intends to understand your interest and readiness as a homeowner and/or business entity to invest in energy management solutions that can foster impactful behavioral shifts in how you consume energy generated from your solar PV. This brief questionnaire includes topics that relate to solar PV users' access to energy management solutions and their willingness to invest in innovative technology that seeks to improve energy consumption behavior and reduce energy costs. The survey will take less than 5 minutes to complete and also provides you with an opportunity to enter a draw for a $100 gift card. Your response will be anonymous and analyzed in aggregate.
