Thank you to everyone who participated in the American Solar Energy Society's 53rd National Solar Conference on May 20-23! We are overflowing with gratitude.

Given that it's a presidential election year, SOLAR 2024 emphasized community and network-building opportunities focusing on advocacy and education needed to expand upon best practices and new ideas for implementing a quicker energy transition.

Leaders converged from government, industry, trade, academia & the community come to exchange valuable ideas. The impact of climate change is upon us, and each one of us makes a difference.

Looks like some people had a good time. Although I have to say, a photo shot in front of the Capital is not quite what it used to be. Not only because of Jan 6th, but because of the majority Repub day to day fiasco, and disgrace.

I think for the collage creation, I would have replaced the Capital shot(s) with an entity that really embraced the installation of RE, rather than the abomination of todays Federal government, largely infected with Red Cancer.

I would have to wonder, does not GWU have installed extensive RE on campus? They seem on their website to have done a bit of SDHW on some of their residence halls.... and other locations as well...etc... Pictures of that would have been better than current Capital shots....

Hi @william fitch, thank you for your message and feedback! I appreciate you sharing this. Given that it's a presidential election year and that we hosted the conference in DC, our call to actions for SOLAR 2024 emphasized voting for renewable energy champions and policies. We hosted a pre-conference event at Capitol Hill that provided hands-on experience in solar advocacy.

Participants shared educational material about the Clean Electricity and Transmission Acceleration (CETA) Act (H.R.6747) with congresspeople and senators that ASES is supporting. The resource can be found here: https://ases.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/CETA-Act-One-Pager-Draft-5.18.24-7.pdf.

    Thanks so much,

    Ella
