Photovoltaic ( PV ) electromagnetic dome habitats are emerging and could potentially contribute to such a vision in the future for instant housing, remote campsites, remote work stations, extraplanetary microcosms.

Solar-Integrated Air Domes: Current advancements in air dome architecture involve the integration of hyper holographic modules, onto the ionized magnetic spherical surfaces of air domes to generate electricity within a environment protective comfort zone. This technology can power the dome's operations, provide a stable internal environment, and eliminate reliance on traditional power sources.

Smart AI and Privacy Control: Switchable AI/PV envelopes can change its optical properties (transparency, translucency, or opacity) in response to electrical or thermal signals. This technology is already being used in various settings, including windows, partitions, and art facades, to control privacy and manage light and heat.

Electromagnetic Energy Harvesting: Research is ongoing in the field of electromagnetic energy harvesting, which involves converting ambient electromagnetic energy (like radio frequency signals or Wi-Fi) into electrical energy. This could potentially be used to power devices and systems within or around the domes.

Field Generator Shield Advancements: The idea of creating electromagnetic fields to regulate temperature and maintain a "tranquil equilibrium" within the dome, implies advanced field generator technology that can precisely control and manipulate electromagnetic fields for these purposes. While electromagnetic energy harvesting is being explored, the precise control and manipulation of electromagnetic fields for temperature regulation could be coupled with Air Gen technologies.

Solar Energy Integration and Flexible PV: Currently while flexible solar panels exist and are integrated into various structures, challenges remain in maximizing their efficiency and lifespan, and further research is needed for optimal integration into fluid curved dome surfaces.

While the full vision of Solar Air Domes as PV electromagnetic habitats with privacy-controlled color-changing capabilities is still in the realm of future possibilities.  Advancements in solar-integrated air domes, smart AI/PV technology, and electromagnetic energy harvesting are laying the groundwork for such innovations. Further research and development in these areas are necessary to overcome technical challenges and realize this ambitious vision for future wall-less housing and habitats. Air Domes as PV electromagnetic habitats once perfected could act as instant housing for humans anywhere on the planet with only the Air Dome Projector. Constructing domes solely with AI holograms with the use of holography, augmented reality is beginning to transform how domes are created, offering significant potential for direct 3D holographic fabrication which could pave the way for even more direct applications in the future.

Or we could SIMPLY take all the tech we have RIGHT NOW and put it on all the roofs of everything, parking lot covers, brownfield land, Etc. and have all the energy we need NOW, at a low price.

But hey why do something now, that you have EVERYTHING for, when you can fantasize about things you don't.

Bill  with all these storms, fires, floods, hurricanes, tornados, hail, straight line winds,  you name it destroying our homes and roofs everywhere, maybe we should consider some alternatives to structures and start thinking outside that box? This climate change thing seems to be happening all around us all the time now, as the so called 100 year disasters are every few months now.  A dome by nature creates a space that is hard to knock down next to what maybe a pyramid.  A fantasy somehow we doubt that. Over the next few decades expect extreme changes in how the human species shelters upon or under this planet.

People are not logically minded. Pick your disaster. Hurricane, tornado, flooding, wildfires, etc. Their house gets destroyed by these things. What do they do? They rebuild right in the same spot. Emotion over logic. The only thing that forces them to move is the insurance companies not insuring a location any more, than they can't get a bank loan without it.

People don't want to live in a dome. They want to feel a breeze now and then, to hell with the consequences. And "beam me up Scottie" force fields have not been invented yet.

You want to build a survivable structure, build a concrete dome home, a geodesic dome, etc.. This way you can walk outside and still feel you are on Earth.

Computer!  COMPUTER!!  END PROGRAM? This has been an interactive, 3D virtual simulation of an environment using holograms. It allows users to interact with an simulated environment, objects, and characters for training, recreation, and exploring imaginary, or futuristic, and or historical settings.   Please exit the Holodeck, or begin a new program.   Bill, Have you ever considered that it would be very nice to have a Enviro-Shield that can even protect your existing home. Well that technology isn't that far away.  And Bill who says that a Dome cant be full of breezes? And fact of the matter is the uppermost part of the human skull, which encloses the brain, is often referred to as the calvaria  or skullcap, and it is described as being dome-shaped. This shape plays a crucial role in protecting the brain from trauma. So in essence we all already live under a Dome. The dome-like shape of the skull is not just for aesthetics; it's a biomechanically advantageous structure that helps to distribute forces from impacts over a wider area, reducing stress at any single point and protecting the delicate brain tissue within rather logically minded or an air head.

    Bill,

I'm with you on this one. Those of us who have seen and been part of the many different solar iterations of new concepts and applications and devices for 40 years know that what we have now is pretty good and able to get the job done. It has been tested and validated and survival of the fittest has occurred.  We don't have time or resources to develop, validate and manufacture cost effectively AT GIGAWATT SCALE any of these advanced and unproven ideas. What we need to keep developing ways to integrate more of the existing solar, inverter, battery and load control technology at larger scale. Think about this - the PV industry (modules, racking, inverter, battery, interconnection agreements) has reached > 100 GW scale in US. How long before any of these other things would reach similar scale at comparable cost????

Yep. All these "wait for it its coming" just winds up de a deliberate stall or an ill advised naivety. We need massive deployment yesterday.

No form of human technology will ever stand still. Expect extreme stream lining of solar in the near future as almost everything you see today will become obsolete just as with every other technology invented by human beings.  Nevertheless sure lets go with what we have right now but lets not stagnate into thinking this is it. Solar technology will advance as the cumbersome nature of current status quo fades into history.  The exposure to the very  weather, both solar, and atmospheric, will dictate change in how solar is implimented along with human ingenuity which will favor integration. ( Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV)  When billions, upon billions of humans demand solar energy on their homes, factories, and businesses  in the near future the very supply lines, and rare earth elements will force evolution towards a Solar Singularity not only in the technology but in installation. Electricity will become so easy to create that no one will ever need to buy it from someone else ever again.  Bill  " Massive Deployment " of any major energy related technology at this late date could actually break the bank as far as earth's climate is concerned. Take it easy, kick those shoes off, sit a spell, relax.   Deforestation will explode as humans move into these areas with cheap independent energy unless a major shift in how humans habitat, and the mining and  manufacturing,  and distrubution of all that solar equipment would not offset any current or future climate statistics. Maybe living more like the Amish would help totally without electricity?

The strategy that will accomplish the most in the least time is that strategy that is available now at the lowest cost.  The technological fantasizing you are engaging in Timothy accomplishes nothing.

Joe, Solar has just now reached a point in it's maturity finally that a major quantum leap is inevitable.  A technology struggles until it reaches a pinnacle, then miniaturization sets in. (Micrometric Photovoltaic Cells) Look around you at how fast things get very small and very efficient, like phones, computers, cars, houses  and now power plants. Hypothetical Invention: AI-Designed "Quantum-Perovskite Tandem Cell"

Based on these methods, an AI could invent a super advanced cell with:

    • Structure: A quadruple-junction design layering AI-optimized perovskites (for visible light), quantum dots (for infrared), and gallium arsenide (for UV), with nanoscale interfaces to minimize losses.
    • Efficiency: 55%, surpassing current records by using AI to fine-tune bandgaps and reduce recombination losses.
    • Power Output: A 10 m² home panel could produce 5-7 kW peak, covering average U.S. household needs (30 kWh/day) with storage. For cars, a 2 m² roof panel might yield 1-2 kWh/day, extending range by 20-50 km in sunny conditions.
    • Advantages: Flexible, low-cost ($0.20/W), stable for 30+ years, and recyclable. AI's role: Discovered via screening 10 million virtual structures, simulated in days, and optimized for real-world variability.

This process mirrors ongoing AI-driven accelerations in PV, where tools like active learning have slashed development time and costs. While not yet realized, scaling such AI methods could make this a reality by 2030, transforming energy for homes and transport.
