Indeed, Solaredge lost reputation and they are trying to regain by providing better pricing, which it is the same as Tesla, but recently Tesla inverters are also showing same behavior of Solaredge, such as failure before commissioning and a not helpful tech support. 

Enphase is more reliable than the other brands mentioned in the video, but as the microinverter's system I have installed, there is not a standard in trunk cable,  limiting your possibilities of cost reduction. For example, normal PV string inverters you can use PV wire, MC4 connectors and other components that serve you with several brands. 

One brand that did not push really hard its way in the residential is SMA. They are very reliable inverters, they are the tough guys in the business, just feed them with DC and go to sleep (don't let water get in, that its kryptonite). If you need monitoring you can always use third party devices such as Sense to provide that service to the customer, and still it is less costly that the other brands, but yet seems they were not fully interested in keeping up  the residential field. Now after many attempts they will provide their own RSD, an inverter greater than 7.7KW and their own battery system (that can only support 120V loads :/)
