The National Solar Tour Showcase Weekend starts on Friday!

Attendees have the opportunity to visit in-person or virtual tours of solar-powered homes, businesses, and community sites across the country, either in person or virtually from anywhere in the world. Now in its 31st year, the National Solar Tour is the largest grassroots solar event in the United States. This year's Showcase Weekend features hundreds of host sites across all fifty states, ranging from residential rooftop systems to community solar gardens and net-zero homes, giving attendees a firsthand look at how solar and clean energy technologies work in real life.

The National Solar Tour is made possible with support from platinum sponsor FranklinWH Energy Storage Inc., along with additional sponsors, Exact Solar & Belmont Solar.

Just tried the map link but the filter feature does not work.  The virtual tours are identified by the orange dots - great.  But how does one find the hundreds of other sites for an in-person tour?  The first dialong box asks for the site name?  Why should I know this.  The second dialog box selects an organization or local chapter group; but, that does not provide results either.  Frustrating tool unworthy of this event.

    Hi Dennis,

Thanks so much for your message! All tours (whether in person or virtual) are identified by orange dots.

You can find the in person tours by clicking on this button in the filter:

The dialogue box for site name or local tour name is optional, you don't need to use it unless you'd like to. The goal of the map if for folks to Zoom in throughout the US and click on the various dots on the map accordingly. On the left side of the map, you should see a list of tours that will identify whether they're in person or virtual.

I apologize for the confusion and inconvenience. Thank you for checking out the National Solar Tour map! Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.

    With gratitude,

    Ella

Well, 3 days ago my grid tie inverter decided to fry its whole connect block. What a melted stinky mess. I am still off line waiting for parts...

As they say, sooner or later everything breaks....

Good luck on the tours everybody.... I used to do them but this area is just to anti-solar for the most part....

    Hopeless....
