Hi all, a member asked me the following question below. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to replace the tank or a way to use their solar panel for other solar energy?
"Hello, we have an old VELUX solar water heating system and now need to replace the water tank and have the solar unit tuned up. Velux is out of business, and the company that bought them does not make the compatible water tank or maintain these systems anymore. I have called about a dozen plumbers and solar installers, and none of them do solar water systems. I also called Solar Utah (I live in Salt Lake) for suggestions but they gave me a very out-of-date list of contractors that yielded nothing.
Before I take the system down - do you have any suggestions for how to replace the tank or a way to use my solar panel for other solar energy? In particular, the names of current solar contractors who actually know about solar water heat (not just electric) and work in Salt Lake would be great! Thank you."
