What's up with PV modules warranty proccess?

    Good day everyone.

I am working on an article related to the untold side of warranty claim on PV modules. My experience has not been the best when it comes to PV modules failing after 2+ years.

    (Real scenario) Manufacturer X process:

You sign up to their website as a installer or service provider. Then upload all the photos required (something you need to know before going to the site, otherwise it would be a two day visit) Once the photos are uploaded, they evaluate and if it applies, your RMA is approved.

fun part: Manufacturer X does not send you a new PV modules because by that time is obsolete. They will issue a refund to wherever that panel was purchased. Then the distributor company in this scenario CED greentech will received it and will only provide the refund to the company who originally bought the panel, not to the homeowner nor the service tech. If you do not push through the Manufacturer, CED will not issue any payment to anyone as the company who bought the panel is out of business.

It seems like a vice cycle.

Worst part, Manufacturer will issue the refund on the amount CED purchased the PV module which is way less than what it cost to the Homeowner. Still will have to buy a new one and add any MLPE for compatibility if applies, and verify structural compliance.

So what's up with PV modules warranty process? What is true and what is not? and how to prepare Homeowners for this experience.

I also have  experiences with Waree, First Solar, Anixter, Q.cell, etc.

If any one is willing to share their story, I am here all ears. I want to rise awareness and hopefully change the way this industry works.
