Each Tuesday at noon (Eastern) solarPVtraining.com hosts a Zoom sessions for students (or anyone, really) interested in solar.  Generally discussion focuses on technical questions, problems or troubleshooting - or just what is happening in solar that week.

Taking your title literally, It is already happening. Here in Central PA, land is being re-zoned for data centers as per the DINO Governor and fast tracked for data center abuse. Salem township is a prime example where their first building is already complete. My twp, North Centre  is appropriating 355 acres 3.6 miles from my house, as the crow flies give or take.... Agricultural land currently which will be trashed... This situation is far from unique in the USA. These are being steam rolled by profit interests... So you might want to re-think your headline... with the word NOT..

Update:

After watching, thinking they "won't happen as planned" due to capacity issues is probably a faulty conclusion. Money is the desired reason all this is happening, and it will be money that will create the needed power no matter what the consequences are to those affected areas. This historically can be seen with your eyes closed. So will this happen, yes it will, unless something "explodes".

Update#2:

Today the Mifflinville borough supervisors approved a 400,000 sqft Data center for their Twp.. Public resistance was high. Nobody wants these except for the people with their hands in the cookie jar... 

So much for public outcry....
