Subject: How to make your Home Energy Efficient: Part 2
- Swap to more energy efficient alternatives. You can switch all lightbulbs to LEDs which use 75% less energy than traditional bulbs. LEDs bulbs last longer than other alternatives and can also save money in the long run.
- Use Smart Meter: This will help identify any areas in the home that are using excess power and improve awareness of the overall energy consumption.
- Invest in Solar Energy: Adding solar panels to your home can significantly improve the energy efficiency of your home and bring down your energy cost in the long run.
- Ensure that existing appliances and fittings are working to the best of their ability. This will help increase the life expectancy of your appliances.
- Thermal insulation: Insulate hot water pipes and tanks. This means that less of the heat being created leaks out into the surrounding area.
