Thanks, Ella and Debbie.
We have commitments from some passive solar luminaries already. These include David Wright, who designed some of the most iconic passive solar buildings in the Southwest. Mark Chalom and Quentin Wilson, who worked with Peter van Dresser on the SunDwellings at Ghost Ranch, will be there. Bruce Davis, who worked extensively with Karen Terry, will talk about their historic work. Also, Jose Baer will grace us with stories about his late father Steve Baer, as well as about his own research. Opportunities for interacting with these pioneers are precious, and there may not be many more of them.

Subject: 2025 National Ambient Energy for Buildings Research Symposium (NAEBRS)
April 30 is the deadline for abstract submissions. Thanks for the reminder, Ella!
This should be a very educational and inspiring symposium with the chance to interact with passive solar pioneers and learn of current efforts and research, including ambient energy in building design. Using the energy from the sun, earth, and air to condition our buildings greatly reduces, if not eliminates, the need for mechanical heating and cooling systems. Buildings conditioned using ambient energy are more comfortable and resilient in extreme weather events. If you have related research and/or projects, please consider submitting an abstract via Keith's previous link.
Here you can see more about the symposium:
National Ambient Energy for Buildings Research Symposium, September 7 – 9, 2025, Ghost Ranch, New Mexico
Looking forward to this symposium with Co-directors, M Keith Sharp, an active member of the ASES Solar Buildings Division, and Julian Wang, Vice-chair of the ASES Solar Buildings Division.
