Does anyone know of any updates for the elective pay (a.k.a. direct pay) process?  (i.e., re: non-profits accessing the benefit of the 30% ITC through direct pay for solar installations.)  The latest I've heard is that the paperwork/procedures would be up and running by "the end of 2023" and that is quickly approaching.

Hi Adam, thanks so much for asking this! I spoke with our incredible Policy Chair, @Gilbert Michaud, and he kindly shared the following information:

Please see the White House website that walks folks through the steps with a sample timeline: https://www.whitehouse.gov/cleanenergy/directpay/

Here's an IRS website with many links as well: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-releases-guidance-on-elective-payments-and-transfers-of-certain-credits-under-the-inflation-reduction-act?mc_cid=c227bcd6b5&mc_eid=8e55edf05f

Lastly, please see a good article by EESI that includes a lot of data, and links, and also has a timeline: https://www.eesi.org/articles/view/direct-pay-nonprofits-can-now-benefit-from-clean-energy-tax-credits

Please let me know if we can provide any additional information; thanks so much!

I would welcome news when the IRS ENERGY CREDIT ONLINE (ECO) portal is open for solar installs. It only appears to support electric cars so far.

    Thanks,
