In 1974, I was searching for a career path to apply my electronics skills in support of off-grid living. It seemed impossible. Then I learned that many farms and ranches in the 1930s to 50s had wind-electric power. I researched the field, hands-on for two years. Then I started in business in Santa Fe to power off-grid homes. 1980, I transitioned to PV and took on solar water pumping as a specialty. Now retired, I am co-authoring a book on solar water pumping with Robert Foster, ASES Board Chair.
