Around 1970, as a zoology major prior to medical school, I became aware of the possibility of global warming secondary to CO2, and other greenhouse gasses. I joined the NC Solar Energy Association in the 1980's. I built a home with passive solar features, and active solar thermal in NC. Mike Nicklas, past president of the ASES was my architect. I am not in the solar business, but remain a supported of renewable energy. I currently live in Pennsylvania. My son moved to Colorado and worked installing solar panels, before getting his MBA at CU. He now lives in Boulder. Educating the public about global warming and greenhouse gasses has been a frustrating process. The Heritage Foundation and the Cato Institute are well funded and produce very convincing anti-environmentalist print and media. Like all in the ASES, I just do the best I can to promote clean energy.
