I want to emphasize Keith Sharp's point about IR non-contact thermometers. You can buy one for under $30 and they are remarkably accurate and easy to use. I have found lots of uses for it, including finding cold spots and leaks.JimRetired engineer in Ohio10 kW solar system runs our house and cars.

Screenshot from my system, in Ohio where totality lasted about 2 minutes. It ramps down during approach to totality, stops at about 10 watts during totality, then ramps back up to normal.

The SMA Sunny Boy inverters had a feature called Secure Power Supply that provides one outlet with up to 2000 Watts when the grid is down. The inverter shuts down in an outage, but when you flip the switch it is isolated from the grid and any power coming from the solar panels (up to 2000 W) is available ...
