Hello. Your house sounds interesting. Tracking is a love hate relationship. 30-40% more energy but a system that now moves over static. Most people today just throw more panels at the energy required rather than track. Goes to cost per watt. When panels were expensive, tracking was approached more eagerly. ...

Hi: I to have been trying to work getting my barn array actually off the ground and onto its East/West roof location. Had to upgrade my house/barn circuit breaker. With the full 18 panels on the ground (upgraded from 14), I blew the 50A breaker yesterday so I ordered a 70A which should deal with it ...

Hi: My May export for the May billing period (24th to the 24th) was 779KWH's, which is pretty high. Not sure if its the highest ever because in the days before EV's, I used to get $400 and $500 dollar checks from PPL. I am still testing my barn array (East/West) on the ground (Messy) and I just ...

"It's not saving me as much as they said it would." I read this line in your quote from the article, and instantaneously the first thing that popped into my mind was, "that's because they really don't care to know or understand." I can not tell you how many people I "bump" into and solar comes ...

Just thought I would expose the incredible sunshine we have had here in central PA this past month. I broke a new production record for any month and year, 2591KWH's. We have had PSD's (Perfect Solar Day) or near PSD level sunshine for more than 2 weeks straight. I feel like what it must feel like, in ...

I was just out on the IRS site snooping around. Not great. Might be best to try and call your local designated IRS office if you can get to a human. ------------------------------ william fitch Owner www.WeAreSolar.com ------------------------------

https://www.nrel.gov/docs/fy21osti/73476.pdf FYI: Just thought I would post this. This seems to be the latest and greatest hot topic relating to PV and grid infra-structure. No surprise really, a next logical step considering the expansion of microgrids, etc.. The link provided goes directly to a .pdf ...

WOW! I think that is a 7 course meal. There's production, load and storage. It is really that simple. However saying that "truth is a bit like saying to put a man on the moon, build a rocket, put man in rocket, fire rocket and wait until the return. Oversimplification. The advise should be to over ...

I am sure today RMI is what they use. I meant way back then they always used their full name before you started seeing the short pop up. I thought you might have 'run into them' in the past. Thanks for the reply... Still working on the rest of KISS. If you know of any cartoonists, let me know. --- ...

I am not sure we really disagree that much. Big enough inverters can eliminate all load issues, as can a big enough battery bank for total power. Basically my preference for res over induct. is steady VS not. It is always easier to handle a steady load than one that is not, aside from the total power ...

To go to your last line directly, NO! That is an odd paragraph. The only way I can excuse it is by saying they were being very generalized all over the place. Ironically resistive loads are not the hellcat for off grid. Its inductive loads, IE anything with motors. And within that sub group, SIZE matters. ...

As an FYI regarding RMI Ella, do you know who the key player was in the startup of RMI? Amory Lovins back in the early 80's really was the one who pushed RMI and his wife (Hunter) who was heavily involved in the business. Amory Lovin's book, "Brittle Power" was one of the environmental ground breaking ...

I would look at allot of the companies that have used panels or refurbs to sell. The price is way lower then brand new and most of the time the utility is still 100% or close to it. Used inverters would also be a good place to look. There is an increasing stock out there from companies who's inverters ...

OK. This is the next part, Off-grid. The cartoon drawings were hard, especially the idea of an inverter/charger combo. But the text is pretty straight forward. There is a whole lot you can say about off grid from many directions, but my goal was NOT TO GIVE THEM a Stephen King nightmare. -------- ...

Ok. I found myself thinking about this and I kind of went into creative mode (Not my choice) and this came out. It is crude, but I think it will at least give you a "feel" of the kind of things spinning around in my head. I wish I could draw cartoon stuff, but alas.... I use analogies allot for explaining ...

Yes sure. As I said wide open, not just in format but input points as well. I can't draw, at least not comics and free-form stuff. Comics can be small yet dense with meaning and conveyance. The trick at least for me is to make it dense with info yet still KISS and entertaining. I have a feeling that ...

I had a SMA sunny boy 8000 unit. Never had a blank display though after tapping. The discrepancy you speak of, how big is it? Or to put it simply, is there any power being gended? The fact that 9 are sharing the same problem makes the blankness attributable to "failure" pretty remote. From an install ...

K.I.S.S. is known to many as, "Keep It Simple Stupid". It is a very old expression that explains the engineering postulate that the fewer the parts a system has, the greater the possibly that the system WILL NOT fail. It probably is a distant cousin to the saying, "If Its Not Broke, Don't Fix It." Sometimes ...
